BATC ORGANISED EXECUTIVE DIPLOMA CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP PDF Print E-mail

The Executive Diploma Regeneration Development (EDGE ) Unit , Business & Advanced Technology Centre (BATC), UTM International Campus had organized a Curriculum Development Workshop held on 5-6 April at De Palma Hotel, Kuala Lumpur for a new Executive Diploma Programme.

Practitioners from Proton, staff from BATC and from the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering UTM Skudai were involved in these two day sessions. In the first session the proposed curriculum was refined and some of the modules were renamed. The major aim was to come out with training modules which would fulfill requirements for the manufacturing tasks at the supervisory level. In the second session, participant was made to comment on the proposed module contents.

All participants seemed to enjoy the hot debate of renaming the Programme which was finally called The Executive Diploma in Manufacturing Systems Engineering. Every group member had put a serious effort into fulfilling requirements stipulated under the Malaysian Qualification Agency and the learning outcomes to be achieved at level 4 of the MQF structure.

At the end of the workshop, certificates of attendance were presented by the Executive Director of BATC, Prof Dr Awaluddin bin Mohamed Shaharoun and En. Rahimi bin Abd. Rahim who represented Tn Hj Mohd. Yunus bin Abdul Aziz , the Senior Manager of Learning and Development Department of Proton received the certificates on behalf of Proton. In his closing remarks, En Rahimi was very impressed with the outcomes of this workshop.

The organizing committee deserved a special mention for all their hard work which had contributed to the success of the workshop. We also wish to thank all representatives from Proton, BATC and the Department of Industrial Engineering UTM Skudai for their valuable contributions.
